On this journey, you will experience a little bit of everything. You can get to know the two beautiful island worlds of the Bay Islands (Honduras) and Belize with its vast barrier reef and the unique Atlantic atolls, and you will also take part in a small blue-water voyage. Sail with us from the Bay Islands (Isla Roatan via Utila) across Belize's Glover Reef atoll and the Belize Barrier Reef to Belize City. The starting point is Roatan, an island with Caribbean flair, part of the Bay Islands group off Honduras. Roatan – Coxen Hole is easily accessible via the USA (Miami, Houston, Atlanta) or Canada. Roatan is famous for its underwater world, whale sharks, iguanas, and the backpacker atmosphere in the main town. The reefs form unique canyons and caves that serve as shelters for many different marine species, making them perfect for freediving or snorkeling. If time and weather permit, we will also visit the backpacker/diver island of Utila and clear out of Honduras there, where we can also visit the picturesque island of Watercay. From there, we will sail about 100 nautical miles to Belize and will stop at the second-largest barrier reef in the world and possibly also at Glover Reef. These offshore atolls of Belize, with their turquoise blue water and small palm islands, are a paradise for divers and snorkelers. We must clear in at Pt. Gorda and sail with several stops along the mainland of Belize to Belize City. The end point of this trip is Belize City, where the international airport offers good flight connections to the USA or Cozumel (Mexico).
