4.1.2027 to 18.1.2027 Belize (Belize City) to Bay Islands (Roatan – Coxen Hole) On this trip we connect the atolls of Belize with the Bay Islands of Honduras. First we sail once more to Belize’s offshore reefs. Some of the best snorkeling and freediving spots of the entire journey are located here. The water is crystal clear, the outer reefs drop steeply into the deep and at times it feels as if we are anchored in the middle of the open ocean. Afterwards we head across open water towards Roatan. This leg brings a real bluewater feeling – night watches, endless stars overhead and the sense of slowly sailing into a completely different island world. Roatan welcomes us with dense green hills, small bays and spectacular reefs. Unlike many classic Caribbean islands, the Bay Islands have retained much of their original character. Away from the tourist centers there are quiet anchorages, small villages and countless sheltered bays. The reefs around Roatan are among the most impressive in the region. Deep canyons, caves and swim-throughs make the island especially exciting for freedivers and snorkelers. The trip starts in Belize City, which is relatively easy to reach internationally via Cozumel/Mexico (Tropic Air), the USA or Canada. The trip ends in Coxen Hole (Roatan), home to the international airport with good flight connections to the USA, Canada and Cancun (Mexico).
