Looking for a comfortable boat to sail the Mediterranean? I’m looking for crew to help me sail around for season 2 aboard my new Lagoon 46 sailing catamaran. Last year was my first season living aboard full time, and I had a blast meeting various people from facebook crew groups who came aboard to help out at various times so I’m putting the word out again. I’m looking for crew who are keen to join the boat between the middle of May and the end of August. The boat - it’s an owner’s version Lagoon 46 (google it, you’ll see some pictures) - a floating apartment, and setup to be completely off-grid. Massive solar/lithium bank, water maker and Starlink to make it more glamping than camping, albeit without air conditioning. Last season after leaving mainland Spain we didn’t touch a marina for 4 months till the end of the season. This season I’m adding on some light wind sails which I’m looking forward to using! I’m a solo traveller, and this boat my home. My dream is to do a slow lap of the globe over many years. My background is that I’m a 37yo eye surgeon from Australia, and I’ve been sailing for a few years, and lived aboard this yacht for 6 months in the 2023 summer season sailing from Northern France to Sardinia. I’m keen to learn more, and if you’ve got a lot of sailing experience on big heavy catamarans, that’s definitely a plus! The itinerary - roughly speaking, start in the Ionian islands in Greece, then potter around there for as long as possible before heading over to the Canary islands to arrive there towards the end of August. I’m very much a cruiser, not a racer… my ideal is to chill at anchor and enjoy the trip - sail when the weather window is appropriate, and relax at each destination. If you want to get as many miles under your belt as possible, and hate sitting around on anchor/exploring on land this is probably not the boat for you. In terms of expenses - I don’t charge a daily rate, we just split the grocery bill and I cover boat related expenses. If you’re keen to join for a stint at some point - send me a message with your level of experience, availabilities, why you’d be a good fit, and what you could teach me if you come aboard!
